i ordered half vanilla and half chocolate everyone seems to dislike the vanilla so im a little worried!! i think this next month is gonna drive me nuts my mind races a mile a minute. cant wait to hear some helpful suggestions

ive also heard of people on the liquid diet saying they were allowed one cup of veggies per day is this true? NUT never mentioned this to me at all and i cant find it in my booklet.

Hi Tiffany,

the optifast really isn't that bad, the first couple days with Vanilla I stuggled, but I added cinnamon and that helped...after the first week I stopped the cinnamon and just had it plain,..I suggest if you have half and half, maybe divide it up so you're not stuck having all of either the last couple days. The chocolate I really liked. Blend them with ice they're much better!! As for the veggies, NO...not allowed NOTHING to eat, jus****er, low caloric drinks like the book says but no food!!  They used to use MediTrim and you were allowed to eat a cup of veggies with that one but not Optifast!! Hope this helps, it really isn't as scary as you think....I did it for 3 weeks.

Good Luck,
Nicole

I agree with Nicole they are much better with ice.  I replaced the water with cold coffee and then added the powder, a shot of sugar free caramel syrup and about 8 ice cubes.  Blend and enjoy!  I am on day 11 right now it's really not that bad.  Check out my blog.

I really like the Torani sugar free caramel and raspberry syrups.  You can also get some at Startbucks and I hear 2nd Cup.  The Torani you can buy online they have about 15 or so flavours and Walmart in Grand Forks has about 5 flavours.  See my post about the Sugar Free syrups a few days ago.

You can do it!
There is nothing fun about the pre-op diet but it is necessary evil in order to get your surgery. It is worth it though and you will experience great weight loss.

Good luck!
