Walk-in clinic conversation
So I had to pop in to get something for this horrible sinus infection and I told the doctor that I needed to get better as I was having surgery in 3 weeks. Of course she asked what kind and did I get in to winnipeg? I told her what and where I was going and she was so open to the idea..she said thats the way its coming to in Canada. Then she told me that she has a couple of patients that she wanted to refer to Wpg but was told not to refer any more people..they aren't accepting people into the program for now. She had a strong accent and I didnt want to ask her to repeat herself but she said..nope we're not allowed to send any more referrals. Weird huh?
Then she told me that these patients have money so I told her to tell them to look into Mexico..that its not as crazy as it might sound.
Wonder what that was all about?? If I didn't feel so sick I would have prodded her a little more.

I talked to Dr. Vergis's office just the other day & they said to continue sending in referrals and that they are VERY hopeful that the gov't will give them extra funding which will allow them to open up the criteria - including to men & out of province patients. But that until then, the wait will be LONG. :(
