Just an FYI

I was at the craft sale at the Downs this afternoon an there was a booth for "Beat The Odds, Permanent Weightloss Solutions Ltd." booth.  Two lovely ladies who went to Puerto Vallarta to have their VSG done now help others arrange to do it there.   BTOweightloss.com is their website.   Also found on Facebook.

There are two information sessions tomorrow.  1pm & 7pm at the Holiday Inn Airport West (2520 Portage Avenue in Salon A on 3rd floor.

For those that think weightloss surgery in Mexico might be an option.... they also arrange for plastics as well.

That's neat... I wonder if they are close in price to what the other co ordinators and through the doctors themselves. I wonder....

I think my mom and I are going to go.    I've been thinking more and more about switching to VSG, so will go listen to what they have to say about that in general since I can't make the meet & greet this week.

I'm not Mexico bound since I have a date here in June already but my mother seems interested.   I'll let you know what I find out!

There is a coordinator in SK that charges about 4K more than what I am paying.

I contacted the coordinator for the surgeon, and her and she was pissed and rude when she found out that I had booked through the coordinator in Mexico.  It was actually quite unprofessional, although she assured me that I had made the right choice in surgeons.

She said she was going to contact the Hospital and tell them that she is supposed to be excludive to Canadian patients and that.  I told her emphatically that she better not screw this up for me as I have booked my surgery AND my flight.

anyway... make sure you explore all options before you book through a coordinator, they typically are A LOT more expensive.

PM me if you would like any more information.  I am going to the same surgeon as Rainyone went to.

From what I have read, the coordinators can be very territorial and competitive. I did all my own research and booking  and you could certainly di it for your mom. No need to pay thousands more..

You may be right on the territorial comment as my experience with my coordinator I found her very helpful, much like I would be with my child perhaps a bit territorial I would probably use the word protective instead.

Those of you that chose not to use a coordinator do so at your own risk. Hopefully some one does accompany you in the event of a complication. What about support after surgery hopefully you will find that as well.

Best of luck to you, I am very pleased with my decision to use Beat The Odds based out of Lloydminster Canada, Pam is impeccable and probably one of the most honest person that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Now one of my best friends!
