I am thinking of going to Mexico to have the surgery, I do not meet the criteria here in Wpg. Has anyone claimed it on their income tax successfully?

I know a couple people who went to mexico and were able to claim it on their taxes without issue.

I know I plan to just claim the surgery cost ( $5500) and not travel expenses. I think because you don't meet the criteria you might actually be able to deduct things like your airfare and such.

Oh , and I claimed LASIK eye surgery done here in Winnipeg a few years ago on my taxes without issues.

Wow, that makes me feel better, I need to take out a loan for this and am feeling terribly guilty about that but if I can claim it on my taxes then that helps alot. Rainyone do you go to the M & G's I would love to meet you and here all about your surgery.
