Has anyone here had their surgery done at the Jerusleam Hospital by Dr. Mario Almanza or has anyone heard anything about the hospital and their program?

You can do a search on here to find information or you can also go over to the Mexico and VSG forums..lots of people post their experience over there. Its great for information. I am leaning towards Dr. Ponce de Leon or Dr. Ortiz. Good luck!

I personally would stay away from Dr Almanza. Just didn't like what I read. Didn't want it in a strip mall, didn't want a recovery house vs a hotel. Didn't like some of the complications I was reading about him. He is the lowest price surgeon , but he also hustles through the surgeries.

I felt good about Dr Ponce de Leon, Dr aceves, Dr alvarez and Dr joya .... just my opinion. Ended up going with Dr Ponce, who I found very good. I watched the surgery ( on DVD) and I believe he did a great job. He has 19 years experience in surgery. His right hand man had the surgery a while ago too. ( Dr Friday)

I had my surgery done by Dr. Ortiz in February, but I was curious to see what I could find online after I saw your question. I found this site that has only been up since December.

I'm curious who owns that website though. Some good info but I would take it with some skepticism as well. I've heard horrible things about dr pompa and some not so nice stuff about dr almanza . But considering how many surgeries almanza does , i would go with him over pompa. But I would pay a little bit more and go with a better surgeon . What is 1000 or 2000 extra .... For piece of mind . Just my opinion ....

Do some searches on here and google under any surgeon you use .

Dianne, thats a weird website, don't ya think?!I havent seen that before and I seriously wonder too who is doing the reviewing? And I have heard of other doctors that aren't evenon there? What does that mean? I have not heard good things about Dr. Almanza so he wouldnt even be in the running for me.

I honestly cannot recommend this surgeon. I have heard of several horrific surgery complications happening with him. There are much more qualified surgeons available to you.  For a few $$$ more please please choose one those.

I am seriously thinking of going with Dr. Ponce del Leon, but first I want to check with my doctor about the surgery.

this is a website I've been looking at.  When I contacted them they said they are scheduling surgeries for May.  So very tempting!!
