I'm sleeved in Mexico....
Isn't it funny how finally going to the bathroom makes us feel so much better! So glad to hear you are feeling so good. Did you get to know the size of the bougie you received and how close the sutures were (not sure if thats the right word I need here but apparently the success of this has something to do with that)?? I hope that makes sense..lol
It's been 6 days and I feel great! the bigger incision is now a little sore ( some bruising around it and the drain site) but everything is awesome. I am sleeping well, drinking better ( still need to work on getting my fluids in)
. I haven't needed anything for pain since I left san diego. They gave me something but haven't needed it. Took a kids meltaway tylenol on day 4 and that was good.
I am down like 20 lbs since the pre op diet 9 days ago!

Congratulations!!! Wow - that seemed so fast... you waste no time once your mind is made up! How exciting!! I can't wait to be more active this summer . It's weird , it's even easier getting out of the bathtub already. I figured it would be hard at first with the stomach being tender but the 20 lbs down makes it easier already.
I am so happy to hear about your success. Can I ask you a couple of questions?
Where in Mexico did you get it done and who is your Dr, do you have a Dr to come home to and how long did it take for you get in and get the surgery? Also, what are you paying if you don't mind me asking. I am 56 and don't think I will ever meet the criteria here, although when the program first opened up I was told I would be put on a waiting list; so who knows.

I did a lot of research on the drs down there and felt super confident about dr Ponce de Leon . I paid $5500 and that included everything except my flight and little incidentals. It was 2 nights in the hospital and 1 night in a hotel in Tijuana( gorgeous hotel) . We were picked up at the airport in Sam Diego and driven back . My flight was $500 through united airlines . The pre op diet is 3 days. I started making inquiries and booked within a few weeks.
Its fast , you can pretty much pick your day to have it done.
I went through Trish who is amazing as a coordinator . She makes sure everything goes smoothly ,translates when nessasary , takes you out shopping , arranges pedicures if you want , she took care of my sister who stayed with me ( the hospital has a small bed for your guest and she slept there. ) she also has great follow up . Her website is http://www.wls4betterlife.com/htmls/our_services.html
