 I went out only three times prior to surgery first was the consult, second for specialist appointments which are required for approval and then preop appt at hospital. In all I was done in less than a year. But mind you this is not the norm now as the wait times have increased. Post op your are seen at 7-14 days then 1 mth, 3 mth, 6 mths, 1 yr post op unless you have a problem or  need to see surgeon these are the follow ups . You will have a team of specialist available to help you prepare for surgery.. Also a plastic surgeon is now part of the team so a panni removal Post surgery could be possible.

We all feel like you do and writing really helps one feel better and put things in perspective. I am also considering Mexico so there are other options out there if you do your research and feel comfortable with your decision. You are certainly not alone in this battle.

I had my surgery in Medicine Hat, Alberta as the pilot program was not available in MB at the time.  MB Health paid for it.  I did have to wait a long time for the surgery but it was worth it.  I was worried at the time as there were no surgeons with the expertise here but now there is.  Talk to others on this forum and also look at the other provincial forums.... ask lots of questions.... I would get a referral from the dr and get on a waiting list for the surgery... MB might open up the program and you might get in sooner, you never know!  I never believed MB would get the program and look at how surgeries are been done.  It is frustrating to wait but I always figured I did not get overweight overnight and I will not get slim and healthy overnight as well.

Thank you Diane, I know that as well.. I didnt get this way over night... i know it wont go away as much as I wi**** would.

So, when my Family Dr found out I was refused @ St B.. he hasnt done any more, other then that is too bad! so how am I supposed to go about it with him now? should I call St B back and see if I am on a waiting list? i dont know what to do..

I'm finding my depression lately is getting worse as my knee hurts me so much to move.. so i find i'm sitting doing nothing but reading stuff on line... I seem to be drawn to sugars lately.. not chocolate but hard and or sour things.. once the junk in the house is gone, i will not buy any more..

guess i should try and get some sleep.. I have to get housework done around here tomorrow I cant keep putting it off.
