It has begun!
My hair loss...just started....coming out in massive chunks! I was so happy (and a bit ****y) that it wasn't coming out. My surgery was late Sept so I'm almost 6 months out.
I took a picture of what came out in the shower tonight...it's disgusting and so I didn't post it.
I hope this doesn't last long!!!!
Laura predicted this would probably happen eventually and she even predicted the 6 month mark.
How long does this last???
I know most of you have said that nothing really works, but are there any tips? I know that I'm probably not getting in enough protein...maybe only about 30-40 g a day.
My hair was feeling a bit 'nasty' and tangled during the last couple of months, and I was noticing a little loss, but tonight it was just SCARY!!!
Anyways..hope to see some of you on Sunday.

I feel your pain. Started to get hair loss at 31/2 months out which was about 6 weeks ago. Think I lost about half my hair and since I had lots to begin with people don't notice but I sure do each and every day. Totally loved my hair and it was often before I lost weight the think people commented on the most so it was very emotional for me. My hairdresser even commented and has cut my layers so it doesn't look so choppy anymore but find i have to get it trimmed every couple weeks now to keep it looking decent. Sometimes feel like crying since when I put my hair up to go the gym my ponytail is half as think and I have no problem getting the elastic on when before it was hard to wrap more than twice.
I'm making sure each and every day to get in my protein. Have started using Aveda Avanti products which are a new product for thinning hair new whi*****ludes a shampoo, conditioner and scalp revitalizer. A couple weeks ago I also started going for illumiwave which is a laser hair rejuvination treatment at the clinic where I got laser hair removal done. So far since starting the treatments my hair loss has become very minimal and wi****hought of this before it all started to come out.
Just hoping my hair all comes back and now regret before wishing I had less hair.

Mine started about 2 months ago, which was about 3 months out, I lost about 3/4 of my hair and like Charlene's, I also had very thick hair and nobody seems to notice which was a good thing because they might have had a heart attack and thought I was on Kemo treatment or something.
It has finally really slowed down and I can actually see new hair appearing.
Hope to see you on Sunday.
Kim
hey sweets.
i'm right there with you.
BUT i am happy to say, mine has finally started to slow down!!! and my surgery was in August. You can for sure tell that I lost alot, but luckily there is still some left. :)
I found that when I was lacking in protein, that's when it was the worst. Also, I tried to not wash my hair everyday. I still lose but not like before. It DOES get better. :)

Ha got yah!!
Just kidding, I can feel your pain. I took pictures too!! Just so people would actually beleive me.
Mine started earlier than 6 months. I could eat all the protein I wanted and supplements and nothing worked. The ladies at Sally's Beauty said deep conditioner as make sure your ends are healthy. I actually bought a container of Argon oil and use that on my ends now. My new hair that is coming in is kinky/curly.
Take care of your hair,
Michelle

I ended up loosing about half of my hair. I to was a bit ****y cause it did not happen right away. I am just under the year mark and my hair is now growing back (new growth is about 2 inches) and it can be a bit fuzzy (gel is my life saver). Just remember it does not last forever. I was told to stop using a brush as it pulls more on your hair but to use a wide tooth comb. I pretty much only combed my hair while in the shower with the conditioner in and just finger brushed it when it was drying.
