that show on TLC last night called "The Real Skinny"? It was about skin issues with two gastric bypass patients who have completed their weight loss. It was very informative and a little gross (did the surgeon really have to wheel in the patient's "belt" of skin on a stretcher to show them - and they touched it!!!) My poor husband - his reaction was pretty comical. I told him that when I have that done, he'll have to touch it too! It was pretty funny.
That poor girl had quite a routine to keep her skin healthy, does anyone here have to do special stuff to their skin? might be TMI but I am just wondering......

i watched, and yeah, pretty graphic. lol. i was really surprized to see sarah on there, ive actually been watching her on youtube. she had a very difficult time dealing with her skin. poor thing. after watching what she went through, im definatly thinking ill need plastic surgery, my arms and tummy maybe breast, i still couldnt imagine the 360 degree lift. but i saw on you tube how happy that made her, so thats awesome!
first i need the bypass surgery so i can see how much skin i end up with after losing, lol. we'll see when i get there.
i can also add that when i was at my heaviest of 350, i had major skin issues, ive discovered using deodorant/anti perspirant in my skin folds, ie: under breasts, groin, belly crease, ect.,and still use it to this day. it really helps, i havent had a rash in ages. and for those who are unfamilar with these types of rashes, they can be painful, but worse then that, smelly, aswell.

My doctor gave me another suggestion many years ago when I had issues with yeast infections under my breasts (no more, had a breast reduction 11 years ago). She suggested Barriere Cream, which is made for baby's bums. It's getting harder and harder to find, but it works wonderfully. (My husband uses it also, on body parts we won't mention here!) It protects the skin from its own moisture and rubbing. It's not thick and gummy like zinc cream or anything, more like a thick skin cream consistency. Costco sells it (behind the counter), as well as the odd drugstore. It comes in a pink and white tube.
