Well, it's been a quite a few months for..

my son was in the hospital PICU for 2 weeks...it was in admitting I fouind out he is a diabetic type 2..He was a few hours away from death if I had not brought him in that night,..so we have been doing what we can to help him..then

He is diagnoised with pyschois..now, he is on meds for that. We had gone to the ER a few times since all this..He is slowly getting on a healther path..

I had to move out of my apt, for reasons of being verbally abused and harrased by the caretaker.(long story..I have written a formal complaint to the owners, rental agenices, and BBB..also called the police but was told as awful as he was, there was nothing they could do..and I should be happy I am moving out)..well I am..

where did I go? my ex's!..After being legally seperated for 10 years..we are back together!!..

Things happen for a reason I know..and everything is looking rosy now

but

my date for surgery is March 6!!!..I had lost my blue nutrtion booklet given to me by Laura on

my shakes before the operation, and what I can eat..how to introuce food before hand..the stages afters etc..

I have tried looking on line for the info..but I can't seem to find anything..

I am wondering if anyone can please share with me how they took thier shakes before the operation..and what they did after.ie..protien shakes etc..and introducing foods..

pretty pleaseeeee.

Hi,

If you're surgery is March 6th i'm assuming you already have and are about to start your Optifast diet. In my booklet it states the following:

Optifast comes in powder form, which you will prepare with water to make a shake as instruckted on the package. You can prepare it with cold wtaer or blend it with ice. You can try mixing the poweder with black coffee instead of water. Some people will add cinnamon or nutmet for flavour, or will add fruit flavored calorie-free drink crystals (such as strawberry crystal light)

In addition to optifast, you should have plenty of liquides to keep you hydrated and help you feeling as full as possible. You can use only non-caloric beverages(

I prefer then shakes done in a blender with ice cubes.  For the chocolate shake try adding some instant coffee to make it taste like an ice cap.  I initially hated the vanilla but now I prefer it over the chocolate.  I add the cubes along with orange or grape crystal light and a hint of splenda.

If you like, forward me your email address and I can quickly type out the "getting ready for surgery"  and "your diet after surgery" portions of the booket until you're able get another one.
