I remember reading a fact that talked about how we have something like 20 friends while in school and by the time you are 40 it drops to 2 . I know for myself , I have some superficial friendships but only a couple good friends. One I met 15 years ago while in nursing school, the other through the internet . I met her through the weigh****chers website, and we did a get together ( much like the meet and greets here ) and we hit it off. I also moved to a different city a few years ago and made friends through other meet and greets ...
I would suggest taking classes, courses - stuff like that. You could look at the leisure guide, other classes and interests. Even if you don't meet people , at least you would be getting out and socializing for the evening. I took an acting class at PTE once and ended up starting a fringe company , making tons of friends and having a blast doing plays and hanging at the fringe. Volunteering is a great way to get out there and meet people but also give back to the community as well!
I\ve never been to the meet and greets here but am looking forward to doing so!

Rainyone,
A fringe company? That sounds great! A friend of mine did a musical theatre class and I just went to one of her shows recently.. She too has made some great friends, and has also gained a tonne of confidence along with getting into something she has always loved. I would like to get into something like that myself. In Highschool, I was always the one who wanted to get into drama club, but lacked the confidence... I did sets for all the plays, had an amazing time and just loved it :) it's fantastic how working towards a common goal really brings people together :)

Pte ( in portage place ) has great adult classes . It is amazing the differences in people taking classes . In our one class we had retired people , university students , people like me - in a non creative career looking for a creative outlet. , thin , fat , old , young - we all had fun and it was a great experience . It was a lot of fun.
The fringe is a blast - i never expected to actually do
Plays . Lol funny how life works put . We did a bunch of horribleplays but a couple really good ones. Including our last one where we got rave reviews ( 4 stars all over the place)
there are tons of volunteer jobs and you get a free show when you do a 4 hour shift . Plus you usually end up doing things like selling tickets where you are paired with other people. Volunteering at places like the folk
Fest - gets you into the festival - very cool:-)
