NSV

Hey all,
I just wanted to share a very minor but exciting Non-scale victory! I went to Costco last night and decided it was HIGH TIME to buy some new undies...all of mine were sagging and far too big (think Granny pants).
So, with my hubby at my side, I put the XL pack in the cart. He said, no way honey...too big. So I did what every Costco employee hates...I opened up the packages to check out the size and we settled on a...MEDIUM!! The whole way home I said, "There's no way it'll fit now but maybe in a few months.". Well...first thing I did was try them on and they fit! Perfectly. No sagging, no riding up, nothing.
I know it sounds kind of dumb...and only you will understand my excitement. A medium??? The last pair I bought was a 2X.
Every day, something small happens that reminds me how blessed I am to have had this surgery. Whether it's taking a bath and actually fitting in the tub, fitting into tall boots and putting my pants inside the boots, crossing my legs for an extended period of time, bending over to pick up a quarter with out grunting and groaning, etc etc etc. My life is now full of NSVs.
Cheers to you all!

WHOOHOOOO!! Ain't it awesome? My mom is 5'2". I am 5'10"...when I went home for Christmas..she gave me some of her clothes..that were too small!! INSANE! We haven't shared clothes since I was in junior high!! So yep, I totally get the NSV!

I do have to mentionsomething about the whole bending down and grunting and groaning...I must have done that A LOT, because my tiny, not even remotely chubby 3 yr old does that when SHE bends down for stuff. Serious sound effects...SO DANG FUNNY!

You've reminded me...I need to go to costco and get new camis...I need a medium now! The larges are simply too big! STRANGE AS ALL GET OUT!

Wow!! Congrats on that..I could feel your excitement through your post. Keep posting all these great achievements so those of us just starting this journey (and with a long wait ahead of us|) dont give up hope. For me, I will be happy to just be able to buy clothes in the normal section like my friends do..and to not have to wear layers to hide. Kuddos to you!

Yahoo TotalKaos......It's amazing how exciting all these NSV are.  All the things that before you never thought would happen to you are.  Fitting into small clothes you never imagined, doing things that were not easy in the past.  It's a remarkable feeling and I'm so excited for you.

Hi, I'm new here, a male in late 30's. My GP sent St Boniface a letter and they replied that I didn't met the criteria for the Bariatric surgery . They only accept women. Why is that? I've read in this forum that Maples Surgical Centre only accept out of pocket payment, but the post was dated last year, any news if the MB Health already approve payment for private clinics? Many Thanks!
