Finally got a follow up date from information session

I'm thinking things have REALLY slowed down at the old bariatric clinic.  My info session was Dec 16th and I just got a follow up appt notification for MAY 3RD!!  I was thinking I would maybe have my surgery by then!! Ha!  I bet I won't be done until the fall with the way the schedule is going.   grrrrrrrr  

I am wondering if I should ask Andrea if I could possibly arrange a NUT appt. as well if there are any openings.  It's a shame to have a 7 hr drive each way, a night in a hotel and 2 days off work for only one appt.  BUT I don't want to **** Andrea off by harrassing her......... or should I just call Laura myself and explain and try to get my own appt with her...... I hate leaving things to Andrea as she is soooo busy

any thoughts from the "been theres"?

It wouldn't hurt to ask to see the nutritionist at the same time, if they will allow it. You have to make such a long trip, that it is not an unreasonable request. Good luck!

I agree...it certainly doesn't hurt to ask.  You may want to see if you can fit the psychologist appointment in there as well. 

okay, talked to Andrea a little while ago and she said that it would be great if I could have more than one appt per trip (cuz each trip is costing me about $400) BUT until I have been for my one on one with my surgeon, she can't forward the NUT or psych referral until the surgeon approves me or if I have to do some "special" things - can't imagine what as I am food journaling and keeping track of my gym experiences.  The way things are panning out I am sure I will have a couple more months wait for the NUT/psych (although Andrea did say we can try to schedule those appts for the same day or close but it may take more time - ??? - boo.

I also asked if it would help if I had my complete and barium swallow done before I went to the surgeon (hoping for the VSG) but again she said the req. had to come from the bariatric surgeons, not your family Dr.   I will be able to have that done here though when the time comes and not have to make another trip to the city.

So for now I guess I will hurry up and wait.........

I hear you . It can be frustrating. The thing I keep thinking about is it took years for me to get this way , I need to be patient. I have my NUT appt in March and  I am done with the psych. I am hoping the wait isn't too much after that. Although I had the physical done in january from my dr and I believe it is only good for 6 months. I hope I don't need to do it again:-)

I have made my peace (again) with the waiting and I know you are right.  I wish I had gotten the message about Nov info session and I probably would have been further along but I am super happy for you!  Just think, we could have been roomies.... lol
