update
Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd post a quick update...My appt with Dr. Vergis was on the 12th. It went very well. He was happy with my weight loss and the amount I exercise. My BMI is now at 27.8 (from around 40) so he was thrilled about that.
I asked him about a tummy tuck. He said that the surgeons are optimistic that in a year or 2, it will be covered for bariatric patients. He also said that most plastic surgeons want us to wait about 2 years for our weight to stabilize and for our skin's elasticity to come back to it's max.
He also said that if the extra skin is causing rashes or infections (or other health concerns), it can be covered, as long as they have a referral letter.
I have posted a new ticker...with my own personal goal. Yesterday the scale read 188 pounds! I haven't been in the "80s" since high school. (The surgeon's goal was 195).
When my doctor sent her initial referral letter, I was 290. I dropped 30 pounds on my own and was 260 at the surgeon's consult. So I am over 100 pounds less from when I first started this process. Unbelievable!
So I'm a happy camper. I hope to reach my goal by spring break.
We have booked our tickets to go to Arizona and ciimb the Grand Canyon!!! That has always been a dream of mine.
Plus we are going to visit the outlet malls in Arizona and buy a whole new wardrobe for me!! Only 2 months until our trip!
We need to plan a meet and greet!!!!
How's next weekend???

Such great news! You're doing amazing! Shopping for a whole new wardrobe is going to be so much fun. I was in Grand Forks over Christmas break and Gordmon's had a really great sale on. Never have I been so excited to try on clothes.
I agree that we definitely need a M&G very soon. It's been too long! Next weekend works for me!
