Im so confussed

I have my lap band date to see the doct tomorow... I dont know what to do.. is Banding the answer??? aUGGGGG I dont know in reading almost everyones posts it seams that i can still eat sweets  but just not alot? is that the Key? "NOT ALOT"
Im not a big binjer just a bad cookie snaker.. and no matter what i cant keep weight off.

I look at the sleeve and other options yes there coverd by health but do I want to weight another terrable year to get in?? or is the band the way to go but then its 15,000 that I have to get a loan for???? Yes it seams that its worth it, but really?
Im so messed up....

You see I have a BAD BAD back and hips that I cant do the active stuff I use too this is why I eat..I have nothing to do.. but If Im going to keep getting injections for the rest of my life for pain and cant do the stuff I love.. like horse back riding, showing breeding ect....
But I hope the lap band can get the weight off so the pain isnt so bad..im hoping...
or is that the annswer?
I have no other ideas? But I cant keep taking Morphine and injections all my life, I have been like this for about 3 years.. I hate it, there are times I wanted to DIE..
But if the Lap Band can get the pain to be less IM UP FOR THAT.. as I dont know what else to do..

Pardon me for being so blunt but if you are getting a loan for the lap band why don't you get the VSG or RNY in Mexico. I do think (and this is my opinion) that the VSG or RNY is a better procedure than the lap band. Most of us on this site have considered the Lap band at some point in our journey but chose VSG or RNY. If you look at the long term weight loss these two procedures are superior to the Lap band. If it were me in your situation, I would get the loan and go to Mexico. There are a few of the girls on the site who has gone that route and speaks very HIGHLY of their experience. There are many of companies/consultants in Canada that can hook you up. I would also get some counselling as well. This journey is a heart wrenching, at times painful one. I was ready for it. You need to ask yourself are you ready too. I wish you peace in coming to your decision. Take care and God Bless!

yes im ready to do something... just dont want to do the wrong thing..I cant go to Mexico because of a few things.. I have kids at home and horses to take care of, I have a hard time getting around to do the horse chorse and the odd trip into winnipeg (3 hour) drive I know I cant do the trip to Mexico....I wish I could..

I think Im going to see what they say tomorow and then talk to the Pain Clinic people the ones I go monthly  to get my injections and see what they think???
As both have to work together.. the lap band and the Pain Clinic.. thanks for your input.. dont worry about speeking bluntly... I need that..

Will you be able to take the time to recover with the kids and horses? Is it that you are not physically able to make the trip to
Mexico? I believe the pilot project is mostly looking for healthy fat women, not sure how many health issues you have ? I originally looked into the lap band and wasn't impressed at all. If money was no object I would look into travellingvto the US or Mexico .

   Saw your post and I thought the exact same as you! I am scheduled for lap band on feb 14 at the Maples Surgical Center. I talked to some people who have had it done at the same surgical center, one had it done 3 years ago, and that really helped. I went back and forth with all the options and lap band is the best for me. I cannot wait another year for surgery. I was supposed to get lap band 2 years ago and I backed out last minute...2 years later I regret that sooo much. The money hard to swallow...but if this does what I will force it to do, lol...then it ids money WELL spent!

if you are looking into Banding, there is a new clinic in Winnipeg that does it too. . They advertise on this site, Western Surgery Centre. 
They have a brand new facility just off of Wilkes. 

FYI - If your BMI is high you are reffered out of province.  I had to wait 5 years for my surgery in Alberta.

Also, you must plan for recovery.  You will not be doing chores and you will need your kids to help take care of you.  It is not an in out procedure.  Then you also have to budget in case you have complications.  I has off work on bed rest for a better part of  8 weeks after my RNY.  At the end of they day it was so worth it.
