Some things to catch up on!

Well...biggest news is that I've reached my goal weight set by Laura. I've lost 65 pounds since Sept.
I saw her last week and she reported that my BMI has dropped from over 40 to 29. All of my risk factors have now disappeared. She said that I was at the same risk as her for everything like heart disease, diabetes, etc.
I went from a 22 to a 12 in pants. I went to Superstore today and bought a shirt in a medium...didn't even try it on. It was on the clearance rack for $6 so I figured I buy it in a medium for a few months from now...and when I got home, I tried it on and it fits perfectly...definitely no need to wait!
I asked Laura if it would be reasonable to lose about 20-25 more pounds and she said, yes, but then I should stop.
There are no words....every day I discover something else I can now do...like tuck my pants into my winter boots! Or walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night without major joint pain and feeling like I'm 90 years old.

I see the surgeon in 2 weeks. I'm hoping he'll tell me some good news about a panillectomy???
Does anyone know anything about this? My loose tummy skin is NOT attractive!!!

Cheers!
Kaos

Congratulations! You're doing amazing! You must be absolutely ecstatic!   You're losing much better than I am, I've come to accept that I am a just an extremely slow loser. I've only managed to lose 35lbs since my surgery Sept 6th. I have to remind myself that it is still more than I have been able to lose on my own. Including pre-op I'm down about 60 so I am definitely thrilled about that. I still have another 50 to go to reach my personal goal, 20 more to reach Laura's. I cannot wait until I see you, hopefully at our next meet and greet!

Isn't it the BEST feeling??? SO proud of you!!!

About the tummy tuck - they told me they no longer include that as part of this program and I would have to pay on my own & find my own surgeon to take care of that.
Totally bummed since that wasn't what I was told at the beginning. :(
PLEASE tell me if they tell you something else!!

About the tummy tuck.....I just had the group session on November 30 and I believe it was Dr Vergis??? that was speaking to the group. One of the ladies in the group asked about tummy tucks and if they were covered. He said yes. He said he knew how to word the referral letter and which hoops to jump through in order for it to be covered. The only thing he mentioned was the he preferred us to wait 2 years post op since we might be surprised how much our skin will shrink. However, the tummy tuck is the only thing he could get covered for us....if we need the complete body lift....or thigh lift...etc, that would not be covered. I know I will need a tummy tuck for sure once I get to that point. I am curious what the Dr will tell you at your appt. Let me know if you don't mind. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the info! I see Dr. Vergis on the 12th so I hope it'll still be the same answer. I'm fine with waiting the 2 years...I don't think I'll ever be in a bikini, but the loose skin is just so ugly!!
