Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would let everyone know that as of this morning I got the call this morning for my surgery.  The surgery is for Dec 22nd, that is in 2 weeks.  So exciting, but yet scary.  There is so much to do now.
Anything anyone can give me for advice, would be greatly appreciated.

Holy Cow that's great news!! And you got the call so fast!  We finished all our appointments the same week.  I better be ready for that phone call.  You must be excited, I know I would be.

Congratulations!!!
Hospital: Your OWN pillow, lip balm, lotion, own wipes (Kleenex wet wipes are the best). easy slip on shoes (I used crocs), head phones (not ear buds b/c they don't block out the sound as well), and ipod.
I brought my laptop FULL of movies...and I watched about a dozen.
Except I made the CRUCIAL mistake of watching Bridesmaids the day after surgery....laughed so hard that I cried from the pain!!
People told me I wouldn't have time to watch movies, but that's all I did when I wasn't sleeping. I was lucky enough to have my own room and my hubby stayed over night with me, so we watched some rom coms together. :) I also had some good magazines and my kindle.
For home: chicken broth (they sell delicious organic at Costco), frozen berries and yogurt for your protein shakes, make sure you have LOTS of ice in your freezer...help the protein shakes go down a bit easier on week 2.
Remember...no nail polish or piercings for your hospital stay!

Good luck with your preop diet!!!

Thank you for all the tips. I just picked up my Optifast from Purolator and tomorrow I start.  I still can't believe it.

I am sorry that I won't be able to do the meet & greet, I would like to meet you all, but I have alot to get organized and drop of Christmas presents.  Have a great time and hopefully next time I will be able to get to a meeting.

Congrats on your date!

Remember to take your health card.
Leave all your jewelry at home - including wedding band.

Take a housecoat to throw over yourself when you walk around - those hospital gowns do nothing for your dignity.

Best Wishes!
