Confused about when I'm full
Today marked 10 days post op and I have been getting in my protein, water and loving my mushies.
Haven't eat that I get too full yet so not sure what to expect. I try to keep every meal at about 1/2 cup. So far I can eat a little container of yogurt as a snack. Have 1/2 cup fo soup for lunch mixed with protein, can have 1/2 cup oatmeal at breakfast. Then I have snack couple hours like pudding, jello or mashed fruit.

You are doing great! When you had surgery the nerves were cut so it will take time until you get the full sensation back. (it's what I've read) I am 8 weeks out now and it is a bit easier to tell when you are full. I have found that when eating the soft stuff like yogurt, pudding, soup, cottage cheese, and even fruit that I can eat much more than if it were more solid like beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, etc. The more solid the food the faster I have found it fills you up.
Now I'm craving oatmeal and since I haven't had supper yet I think that's what I'll be having.

the general rule is... your stomach can only hold 1 cup of food. don't drink right before eating (15 to 30min) and chew chew chew your food (preferably to liquid form before swallowing) this not only allows you to get more in your cup. the digestion process allows for more absorbtion of vitamins and nutrients. try not to drink immediately after eating either. In the beginning I had trouble with fluid intake.. I was soooooo thirsty but couldn't drink enough because of stomach size and was told not to drink 30 min before and 15 min after eating.. now I just don't drink right before eating. and only sip after eating. but I diligently chew my food..
