Hey there!!!  Welcome!! I am from Alberta(13 yrs transplanted) but I have many friends still living out there. I have one friend who is doing thw weightwise program. She has done well on it, they really work with you and you have work hard too.

I was like you I wanted the band..thought why not? I can get it taken out, it's not permanent...etc. Then I found out about the sleeve(VSG)...and more about RNY...and the DS(duodenal switch)...with all that info, I searched for 1 YEAR! No joke! Now I am almost a year out from my VSG and couldn't be happier! It's been the ride of a lifetime and I ain't done yet!

We understand, no matter what type of surgery you choose you will be amongst the Manitoba Losers!..LOL  There are a few people who have gone to Alberta for their surgeries, whom I am sure will share their experience. We love to share...LOL

We have a meet n greet every month, maybe you can make it out to the next one? If you live in or around Winnipeg, let us know if you need a ride. Someone may be able to pick you up :)

Once again, WELCOME!!!

ahh, to be a loser.... one day...
i would love to attend a meet & greet. my husband could drive me, as i have driven only once in my life, when i was 15 i stole my dads car to drive to the city ( i grew up in east selkirk) scared the bejezus out of myself and have not driven since, my husband says this is a good thing as i am more prone to getting annoyed at others driving than he is. lol.  can you tell me more about your vsg, is the weight loss long term or permanant, can it be streched out after and ruin it. what was the process like from pre op to post op? what are these pre op and post op diets like, i've read bits and pieces but a whole story would be great
how many people attend the meet and greets ? where are they usually held?
