Pre-op Diet Day 4 - I am rambling a bit
Today is already day 4.............only 10 more to go.
It is getting easier but am already getting sick of the shakes also had a slipup (read on to find out more). Really wish I was able to chew on something. Tried sugar-free gum but that didn't work. Yesterday was a real tough day just cause there was so much food around me. We had a big board meeting at the office yesterday and of course I disappeared to my office to have my shake and check emails so it was my way around having to be around people eating and the food. Then in the afternoon I had to attend a retirement party with again more food......it was so tempting but I used my willpower.
I did go to the gym yesterday as I had training with my awesome amazing wonderful trainer. She took it easy on me and I'm so glad I did go cause I feel so much better after the gym. Actually have started to have more energy again as well. Seem to be back to my normal self for the most part. Can't wait to be on the loser bench and have exercising be so much easier. Have big plans of doing the MB half and then in January 2012 I hope to do either the women's Tinkerbell run at Disneyland or the Princess run at Disneyworld. Do I have any takers on a running partner? Really would like to start doing pilates again and maybe even getting my certification to teach. Want to even try hot yoga.
This morning started out pretty horrible. I decided to try to add some kool-aid to my vanilla shake which is the flavour that I am not really liking and it made it taste like cough syrup to me. Drank the shake as I didn't have time to make another one as I had to get to a meeting that wasn't at work and couldn't want till lunchtime. On a side note I don't have my blender bottles I ordered yet and after trying to shake the mix in that doesn't work well it just became clumpy and very gross (first day mistake) so it's either the blender at home or my magic bullet I brought to work.
For those of you reading this if you don't have a blender bottle get one. I thought I had one but I couldn't find it. They can be ordered on there website http://www.blenderbottle.com/. They shipped them the same day and should tomorrow.
By lunch time I was actually hungry and just couldn't bear to get a shake down after the morning experience. One of my co-workers ordered pizza so I ate two small slices. After i ate them I actully felt sick to my stomach. Felt so much better after a shake for the most part now as silly as this may sound. Has anyone else on the pre-op ever done this? Think it was just partly stress and not being prepared this morning. My job can get a little crazy especially when all the bosses are in the office like they are this week.....can't wait for them to go away for another 6 weeks.
Well I'm off for my doggie walk and home to my shake. No more slipups for me. I need and want this surgery soooooo bad.

Hi,
Wow you have great goals! Already a run in January!
I had little slip up on pre op. Still got the surgery you will to. Just don't repeat it.
You had a hard day with all that food around... slip could have been worse!
It is funny how good you feel isn't it, on so little isn't it? I had a lot more energy than i expected on the pre op diet. (some days were hard, but some were really quite easy and pleasurable).
The further i get away from having the foods i used to have, the more i can't tolerate fatty or sweet things.
I hope this never changes!
Are you still interested in getting a group together for a 'boot camp'?
I don't run, so can't be a running partner.
This surgery was the best thing i have ever done.

Don't be hard on yourself. This is an extremely difficult part of the journey, probably the most difficult! Tomorrow is a new day. If being around work is so difficult, take the time off! That would be my suggestion. Work is important but this trumps it! Good luck my friend. You can do it. I would love to do the MB marathon. I probably will only be able to do the 1/2 Marathon. I live in Pine Falls so training together may be a challange. Maybe we can do something online to support each other?? I am sure we can find a creative way to do this. Keep me posted on your journey. Are you able to make it to the next M & G?
