Am I on the right track?
Hey there!
Just wondering if I'm on the right track for about 10 days out. I'm able to keep down about 1/4 cup tomato soup (thinned out) and maybe half a container of yogurt (although it takes about an hour to eat this amount).
I am finding it really hard to get my water in...it comes right back up and I have hiccups several times a day...even when I take little sips.
I'm not taking any pain pills anymore and I'm feeling pretty good...just a bad stitch in my right side.
The protein is good...about 60-70 g a day...thank goodness for the protein powder.
I'm really eager to try something like egg whites!! Do I dare?
Hope you're all doing well!

It sounds like you are on the right track and doing just awesome. I think you would be fine in trying an egg. I was about a week and a half out when I had my first scrambled egg, couldn't even eat the whole thing but it sat fine in my pouch. Just chew, chew, chew. :)
At 4 weeks out I can drink my water fairly fast. I think when the swelling goes down all things become easier. By 2 weeks out I was eating yogurt, jello, puddings, cottage cheese, cream soups, meatless lasagna, etc. It just took a very long time to get 3-4oz in. Laura advanced me last week and I can now have soft foods and fruits. When she said I could have watermelon I was l so happy because it's my favorite fruit. I went out for supper last Thursday at 3 weeks out and had salmon, mashed potatoes and carrots. I even tried a piece of my friends steak and it was to die for. It was funny though because I had 2 waitresses and the owner ask if there was anything wrong with my meal because I ate such a small amount. So far the only thing that has really bothered my pouch is iron. I did pick up the iron that Mishyme recommended so when my pouch settles from the last dose I'll start it.
