What's going on??

Okay...this is for the ladies on the forum (which is most of you!).

I've lost about 15 pounds so far on the pre-op diet. All of a sudden, today, out of no where, I get my 'visitor'....that's right, good ole 'Aunt Flo'. She's not due for another 2 weeks. I know this because I am on birth control and I have been very regular...like clockwork. I am in the middle if my pills...still have 2 weeks of pills to go.
I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS ON MONDAY!!!
How do you have surgery when you have to deal with tampons, pads, etc? Are you even allowed to use those?
And why is this happening? The rapid weight loss? I could understand that if I was irregular before, but I just finished my period last week!!

Please, any advice would be great!!!

i was also on my period for surgery.just let them know that you are on your period.they will give you some wonderful mesh panties to wear and a monster pad.they will help you after surgery changing your pad if you can not. they will keep a supply in the room for you.
the reason is your body is going through alot right now.also expect your periods to be irregular for awhile after.

Awww  I'm sorry you have to go through this now too. I have read about it happening. When they put us on such low calorie diets our bodies go into shock and I guess this is how some people respond. I've also read that some will get it right after the surgery. I never got mine from either as I have a mirena inserted to stop/slow the flow because normally mine is terrible. Hopefully it will be done and gone before surgery Monday.

Wow! Monday that is coming so fast!!!

......I had my period on the day of surgery too!  I think it is stress related.  They will not allow tampons during the surgery(I have no idea why?)  Take lots of undies with you as the mesh ones are not that nice to wear after surgery.  Your own will feel much nicer prettty too!! The mesh ones do not hold the pads very well!!.  The day after surgery I was allowed to wear tampons again.

Remember to take hair elastic thay have no metal parts too!!

I got my period the MORNING of my surgery.
After NOT having it for 2 years!!!

I am positive it all has to do with the sudden weightloss!!
And no, they didn't allow me to have a tampon. :(

I have had a regular on schedule cycle twice now since my surgery!!! :)
