Protein Shake Intake

Just curious what your secrets are to getting all of the protein shakes in during the day??

I know alot of people don't feel hunger, but I still do.
And I know when I feel hunger & when I'm not losing weight - then I must not be keeping up with my protein shakes.

BUT - even with the hunger, I just can't get them down like I should!

Any advice?  Any secrets?

I start my day with a protein shake for breakfast. I mix a 38gr shake with milk OR a 25gr vanilla shake with a bottle of Crystal light. I know some days I will get over my 80 grams of protein a day and other times when I don't, I don't lose. For me water and protein is VERY important to help me lose. I feel hunger, but not anything like before.

How far out from surgery are you?

I also start my day with a protein drink. I have been using high protein boost. I mix that with 1/2 cup of milk and add inflavored protein powder. I also add the unflavored protein powder to any food that I can, yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, anything soft enough to mix it in. I read a post somewhere that they recommended leaving a dish with a scoop of unflavored protein powder on the counter and added it to things all day long. At the end of the day when it is empty you will know you have reached your daily protein needs. I'm still struggling to get enough fluids and protein in me. Some days are easier than others .

 Hi,
I am four weeks out tomorrow and have been struggling to get enough protein in.
Most days i do not get enough.
I am not able to drink protein drinks after 2 weeks out, they just don't agree with me .I ordered some different ones to try, just received 'unjury' unflavoured protein powder today, going to try that in some soup. Funny, never had any issues with protein drinks of any time before surgery!

I am trying to eat meat, eggs and cottage cheese to get some protein in at this point.

I still rely on protein powder/drinks/shakes to help me get in all my daily protein requirements.  It is so much easier that way.  I like the idea of the scoop of protein powder on the counter.  That is a really good way to get it all in.  I was told by the NUT not to rely on the shakes etc.  But if I don't, I am not getting what I need.  So I started back with the protein supplementation about a month ago.  It kicked my weight loss into gear.  It feels like I lost a lot.  I don't weigh myself very often.

I got some protein shake powder at Costco, it's got 35 gms per scoop. I use chocolate every morning mixed with cold coffe ( decaf) and ice cubes I've made out of coffee. So far I enjoy as taking the place of my morning coffee as kinda of a cappacino, so before lunch I already have over half my protein in. Don't know how it will work for you but I am so far enjoying it. Got a Starbucks cup with the straw and take it to work with me. Still takes a couple hrs at least to drink it though. Good luck!1
