Day 3
Well... I'm about 1/6th of the way there!!
This pre-op diet isn't as bad as I thought...so far!!!
I've found a couple of "tricks" that really help curb my appetite. If I just follow the directions on the shakes package, the stuff taste GROSS!! But if I double-triple the water, add some cold coffee and about 6 large icecubes, blend it all together, it makes a LITRE of a delicious shake...I even like the chocolate. A litre spread over a couple hours is much easier on an empty stomach. I eat half a bar at 12:00 and the other half at 3:00...then I'm fine for another 2 hours until my veggies. I also spread my veggies out...1 cup (cooked) at dinner time and another cup (raw) at around 9:00 in the evening...my "munchies" time. My 3rd shake is also spread out from 6:00 until bedtime.
So far so good...I haven't felt sick or had any headaches.
The one HORRIBLE thing about this is the amount that I have to pee at night time! I feel like I am in my last month of pregnancy...up every hour with an incredibly full bladder. I understand it's all the liquids I'm consuming and the fact that I'm flushing out my system, but I hope this part gets better. I need my sleep!!! Only 11 more days after today!
Take care everyone!

That is great! I agree it was not as horrible as i thought it was going to be.
Are you not having the peanut bar for supper?
Wow you are up alot at night if it is like pregnancy! Well only 11 days to go- it sure goes by fast though.
I am excited for you.
I have had a bit of an issue getting enough fluids in post surgery. I miss being able to drink like i used to. I am sure it is only a matter of time until I will be able to get more fluids in.

The chocolate was my favorite. I even wish I had ordered all chocolate and no vanilla. Let me know if you need more vanilla as I still have more than 2 full boxes of the stuff. I always did add double the water or they were too thick and lots of ice. Adding cinnamon to the vanilla helped a bit too and coffee to either of them. I put them in the bullet with lots of ice and it made a nice thick, slushy treat.
Fullofhope getting liquids in now is my biggest problem. I also miss being able to gulp it down. Dr. Andrew said that it will come eventually but it takes time. He also said the only thing that will happen if we take too much at once is we'll vomit. I just said no thanks. I've been lucky not to do that once yet. All we can do is try every day to add a little more. I keep all types of drinks near me and just keep sipping. It will take a while before I get close to the 64oz, I'm lucky if I can get in half of that now. Have you tried making sugar free popsicles?

I have been able to get in up 1 to 1.25 litres (or 32 to 40 oz) of water in. There were a few days I could not get more than 20 oz in.
I am having trouble getting my protein in as well. I am not getting anywhere close to the 65 grams I am supposed to get daily.
The first couple of weeks post op Boost and Premiere protein were fine- but then they didn't agree with me.
I re-tried Boost today again, it did not go down well.
I actually started drinking watered down apple juice and regular freezies (25 calories for one freezie)b/c my calorie intake was extremely low when the protein drinks started not agreeing with me.
I have not vomitted either. Have finally started eating some pureed food a couple days ago.
I am trying to think of making a popsicle with some protein in it.
The good thing is we will both eventually be able to get the water in. It just never occured to me that i would have a hard time getting in water and protein post op!
