Thanks for all your support everyone!
Debbie, I'd love to have another M & G before my surgery! How is your 2 week diet going? You're about half way there!!!! Any good advice?

I've made a dozen calls since I got the news...trying to get prepared. I've already started with all the arrangements with work, finding a good substitute, arranging a month of child care, etc. We have decided to fly my sister-in-law in from Toronto to help with the kids. She will stay with us and drive my kids where they have to go (preschool, daycare, etc). Thank goodness my hubby gets the 1st week off from work! I'm so glad I already have all the shakes and bars so that's one less thing to worry about. We're probably going to Grand Forks next weekend to stock up on what I'll need. So Sondra, any more tips for what I should buy?

Take care!! I'm going to sleep well tonight!! :)

My 2 weeks of utter  and it has only been a week :) ..... I really haven't been all that hungry on the shakes. I've even been cooking a ton of food to make my kids frozen meals so they don't starve while I recover and I haven't been tempted to eat any. I'm having more of a problem with tummy troubles. I get so nauseous a lot but I think it is due to the digestive issues I already have. I have had to have some 10 calorie broth. Some days I have been lucky to get in 2 shakes. I had a cheat of vegetable soup and crackers Saturday evening, I was so sick with bathroom troubles that I needed something. I only managed one shake that day. The scale is also my enemy. Yesterday I was up a pound, today I'm down 3. You'd think with eating 600 or less calories a day I'd lose. But not me! I guess my body figures it is starving so is hanging on to everything I ingest. Marching in parades and volunteering at bingos made me super tired and so hungry from all the activity. I have one more parade on Sunday but hopefully we can get the cadets to march a bit slower... I'll be tossing candy out at that one, I'll buy something I don't like, lol....

Drink lots of water, add a different flavor to it often. Make crystal lite popsicles. I bought a snow cone maker and put my torani syrup on top of the crushed ice. The raspberry makes a nice yummy slush puppy, caramel flavor a nice calorie free treat. I also made

Congrats! I'm so happy for you! It can be a long emotional roller coaster while waiting that's for sure. Sounds like your all prepared and ready to get started with your pre-op diet. Good for you! This is the one and only time it's great to be called a "LOSER" What a wonderful feeling it is! Be happy and Healthy ~Cheryl
