Running!

I starting running this am.  I don't know how far I went, but I was pleasantly surprized with my cardio endurance.  Our Zumba instructor is taking summer holiday so I thought I should supplement my exercise regime.  I actually enjoyed it.  Minus the boy, calling out to me every time he saw a strange cloud.  Note to self leave Simon home next time.  LOL...

WAY TO GO!!! That is fantastic!!! I used to love running...and I can't wait until I can get back into it! My goal is to do the half marathon next Father's Day (The most I've ever done was one leg of the relay about 6 years ago and only about 30 pounds overweight). It was just got way too hard on my knees!
Maybe we can get a group of people together to do the relay next year (and I'll do the first leg and
continue on to finish the half).

My hubby and I have also planned on doing the MS bikeathon next August (out to Gimli). I LOVE having these goals!!

See you on Wednesday??

I think that is a fabulous idea!  We should get a running group for the next MB Marathon.  It would be nice if we got it in the news too, to show people that we are strong & healthy because of the surgery.  We need better press representation.  The last few articles I have read infuriated me.  Public preception of patients who get WLS is very pathetic!
I will be going to the M&G and bringing a friend from up north who had the VSG in Mexico a week after my surgery.  It sounds like a good time.  I am trying to think of a protein rich appetizer to bring.  Any ideas? Are you going on Wed?

I am totally in if you start a running group.  Have started running a little bit at the gym with my trainer who said I needed to bump up my cardio if I wanted to see the weight come off..........she doesn't know I am waiting for surgery as she thinks exercise and a proper diet is all I need.  She is wrong about that.  I workout four times a week and watch what I eat (for the most part) but have struggled my whole life and didn't come off anymore.

Yesterday I did 2 and 2's for 30 minutes (run for 2 min, walk for 2 min).  YAY  Hope to get up to 5 and 1's before surgery.

That is awesome.  Can you image what you are going to be able to do post op!  Good for you.  When is your surgery?

I can't wait till after post op.  Working out will be so much easier and I hope to get my pilates certification so I can teach.  Maybe even teach step classes at my gym down the road.

I don't have a surgery date yet.  Did my consultantion with Dr. Andew on July 20, had my post-op appointment with my family doctor,  did my pysche evaluation.  Next steps are my barium swallow on Sept 9th then my appointment with Laura on Sept 22nd.  Getting closer and very anxious.
