Lap band @ Maples

Has anyone had their lap band at Maples Surgical Centre?  I am in the pre-op diet stage of my surgery and would really like to connect with someone who has theirs done there.  Thanks & have a great day!

Hi Lava, not sure if you are aware but you have clicked on the VSG forum, not to say that you are not welcome (after all we are all doing the same journey, just using different tools) but I don't think anyone can give much experience about the lap band.  I do see from your other post that you are doing the Meditrim, lots of gals have lots to say about that! hahaha

personally, I am on the waiting list for surgery (which is forever) but I do check this forum and the main VSG forum everyday (my addiction) and have learned a ton of stuff.  It might be worthwhile to check out the lap band part of the main forum for helpful advice ( but you are always welcome here) :)

Hi Gonnabe! This most definitely is the MB forum, but I meant that this forum falls under the VSG/RNY (or so I thought because I have not seen any Lapband postings, I assumed the Lapbanders had a different site they got together on, BUT I could be wrong - It happens although not often hahahah jk)

I hope I haven't confused  or mislead or plain old hurt anyone's feelings!  EVERYONE is more than welcome here, it's just that it doesn't seem to have any Lapband experience.....

Ive been around here for while and there were a few lapbanders here but like many post ops theyve stop dropping by.

Have you researched the surgies covered by MB Health, rather than the 17K for the lapband.  The Surgeon is the same!!

Thanks for the responses.  I will definitely check out the lap-band portion of the site... if I can find it.  I'm new to navigating on here.  And as for MB Medical coverage I don't qualify for the lap-band covered through the system which sucks but I couldn't let that be a show stopper for getting on to the new/thinner me!

MB Medical will cover the VSG and the RNY.

The Lapband/Realize band IS covered by MB Health but ONLY in Alberta.  

Can anyone send a link to the lap-band part of this site?  I can not find it.  Argh!!!  I looked into other surgery VSG and RNY but really felt the less invasive the better for me - for a bunch of reasons.  Thanks for the info and the encouragement even though I'm having different surgery :-)
