What would you do?

Okay, so we do the hot holiday thing every winter and now is the time we usually book. My referral went in in late april so now I am scared to book a trip as it may conflict with the surgery. Hands down the surgery trumps Cuba .... BUT if I could have both........
Basically I am wondering (from all your experiences) if my timing for surgery will allow for a winter holiday? I have been granted holidays from my job from Jan 23 to feb 8th-ish. The prices are really good right now and I would like to lock in on one before they start going up. I don't want to rely on the last minute thing cuz prices were crazy last year and lots of people didn't get their usual deals.
so again, based on experience, do you think this will work (and if I AM freshly sleeved, how well do you think that would work at an all inclusive resort?)

Hey now,,,,, good plan! That way if I do get THE CALL, I could just rearrange holidays, either pull them ahead or push them back. For myself, I don't really care if I go, but my hubby REALLY need to go (although he would stay in a heartbeat if I needed to)
Because this is elective though, I wonder if it would fall under the "medical emergency" thing (for cancelling or rebooking)
