That time of the month - again !

Ok - this question is for the ladies - have any of you experienced a change in your menstrual cycle with your weight loss?  I completed my regular cycle time two weeks ago and began the Meditrim this week.  I did lose 8 lbs in my first two days of the meditrim, but also started my cycle again on the second day.  I called Dr. Hardy's office and Andrea checked with the doctors who said they are not aware of this being a common side effect.  Maybe it has nothing to do with the weight loss or the Meditrim, but I just wanted to ask your opinions before I check with my family doctor.

Also had my pre-op assessment at Victoria Hospital today.  Pretty routine.  I also asked Andrea how I will be able to see the nutritionist in a timely manner post op - she made an appointment for me for 4 wks from my surgery date (she said they do have some openings but new surgeries are priority, so I don't have to worry about that first appointment at least).

Hi Lynn;

I didn't even think to mention this to the surgeons, but yes, I also started my period unexpectedly only a few days into the MediTrim. Very unexpectedly. I am on the pill daily - so I am not supposed to be getting my period at all. I just assumed that my hormones were affected by the sudden decrease in the fat in my diet. Bizarre!

You were smart to get booked in with the nutritionist post-op. I didn't even know when I was supposed to see her again.

If you don't mind - I will let Andrea know that this also happened to you.  I think the doctor's need to be aware of it.
