WHOO HOO!! I just got the call...they have an opening for a consult for TOMORROW!!!! I was thinking I wouldn't get a call until at least mid July (I'm a November referral). I was praying and hoping that I would get it done this summer, as I'm a teacher and have to go back to work in the fall (after a year of mat leave...my 2nd year of mat leave in 3 years!). I didn't want to have to explain to every one why I'd have to go on another leave.
I am so excited!! I started crying when I got off the phone. I phoned my husband immediately and he yelled, "Congratulations!".
I'll keep you all posted.
I just got my 2 babies down for a nap (both at the same time is rare) and I was gong to have a nap also, but now I'm TOO EXCITED!!! I think my adrenaline is sky high...good time to go on the treadmill.
Now I know why everyone says they're doing the 'Happy Dance' when they get "the call"!!

Great News! I had my first consult in January and am really hoping for a summer surgery too as I also work in a school; I'm an EA. The problem they are having right now is that the Nutritionist is only there 2x a week and you have to see her. She is the only thing standing between me and an earlier surgery date as I cannot get in to see her before Aug 3rd. Other than that I am ready to go! I'm praying hard for a cancellation or that she comes in more often.

I got goosebumps when I saw the heading "CONSULT" with your picture next to it!!  I'm so happy for you!  I know how much you were hoping for this!  And I'm double happy because I'm right behind you with a December referal! 

EXXXXELLLLENT!  I am so excited for you!  Is it just me or do we seem to be hop, skip and jumping through the list?  Let's hope it stays that way!  I hope everything goes well and in a timely fashion.

If it is the dietitian that is slowing the progress, maybe they should have two so the NUT stuff can be a little more reliable, not saying she isn't working hard but there is only one and if this project is going to expand, they need to expand every aspect ....... just sayin.....

And I agree with Notorious - hopefully the NUT will begin to see people on different days or they add another.  Anyone know if you can be cleared by a different NUT or do you need to stay with the person they have now... ?

I agree!  If they have 4 surgeons, it doesn't seem sensible that there is only one dietician working only a few days a month!  They need to increase the EFT!
