Talked to Andrea

I was talking to Andrea today. I know her from school so I know that I didn't get BS info. She said that they are doing May-August referals.  Some people whos referal went in August are getting the surgery while people whos referal was put in earlier are still waiting becasue they haven't been able to get a hold of everyone.  She also said that with how many referals that they are getting now  the waiting list is up to 1 year.

Thanks for the update.  When you say 'doing May-August' referals do you mean for the surgery itself or for a consult?

And did she mention what happens to the people they can't reach? Do they just keep trying or do they eventually move to the end of the pile?

THey are calling in people for their consultation. When you go for your consult, they tell you want you need to do and if it is all done by a certain date you go for surgery. Some people wait 3 weeks for surgery or it can be up to 2 months. The people that they can't reach, they will send a letter to try to contact them. If they get no responce, on to the next person.

Does that mean they do about 3 months at a time ?..So next would be Sept, Oct, Nov?..

I get so impatient, at first I was told the wait time was 8-10 months...I was refereed in Nov...now, it is moved up a year...arggggg!

That was the selfish me speaking...

...I am happy for others who have been approved, and are also waiting for a consultation...and I know they are busy...

Which shows what a great things this is they are doing..and how much it is needed!

RIght now they are calling people from May to August. They will start on September when they have stopped trying to get a hold of people from May.  I do not know what the waiting list was like for people whos referal went in Novemeber, but if you were to put your name in today, it would be  a year wait.
