Junk Food
Ugh..Ice cream is one I can say no to. But put a chocolate chip cookie in front of me..you better run or get flattened as dive in for it!..LOL I just eat a bit or 3 of whatever I want. Granted I can only eat ONE stupid cookie...lol I would much rather eat some fancy cheese or meat anyways.
I follow my "rules" pretty well during the weekdays, weekends are usually harder to work with. Running around with kids in tow, takes some planning. I have my trusty lunch bag that I try to pack when we are going to be out an about. That way I can avoid the stuff my junk food addict hubby will try to get us to eat..LOL
I had a great weekend but I kinda want another weekend already..

I find high-fat foods worse than sugar. I can have sugar as long as it isn't too intense. For example, I was having some chicken fingers and they came with some honey dill sauce. I didn't even think about it until it was too late. I had several tablespoonfuls and boy did I pay for it! I felt dizzy and sick to my stomach for over an hour.
I also have a problem with high fat foods. I can't touch chicken skin or I pay for it big time. I can have some ice cream and some whipping cream, but not a full serving of either.
I'm like Kokonut - Chocolate Chip Cookies are my downfall. They always have been. I also find that I am "good" during the week but have problems controlling my snacking on the weekends. As long as I have a good serving of protein at each meal, I seem to be able to keep my snacking within reason. If I have carbs instead, I am in trouble & I end up snacking all day.
I guess this just confirms that surgery isn't a magic bullet. We still have to be vigilant.
