Try to find a protein drink that you like, you are going to need them to get in your daily protein needs. If you don't like the shakes, you can get Syntrax Nectar Juice powder at Popeyes or at Gorilla Jack's. I find if I eat bread or pasta, I have a very hard time digesting anything else that I may be eating with it. I have stopped eating all simple carbs. It has made my eating life easier. I eat fruits and veggies to get my needed carbs. You can always eat chicken with a low fat gravy to give it more moisture. Dry foods bother some people. As well, egg can be hard to digest in the beginning. I ate alot of homemake chili in the beginning. I would make a batch, throw it in my food processor and freeze it in 1/2c portions. Also, try papaya extract pills to help with digestion. For some people they work very well. Hope some of this helps.

I assume that you are just starting to eat solids. Take it slowly. Your body will tell you what it can handle. It took me about three months before I was eating "normally" again.
I agree with Michelle, eat foods one at a time. It also helps to take really little bites. I used to cut my food up into really small pieces and then take small mouthfuls.
Have paitence with yourself. It will not be this way forever. If you are having trouble with solids, then continue on mushy foods for a while. Cream of Wheat was a favorite of mine, as were soups.

I lived for several days on shrimp. I could eat 4 of the larger ones. I found they went down well. Also, cottage cheese is a good food to work with. You can add lots of different things to it to give it more flavor. I here salsa is popular with it. I tried chili today for the first time and dam it was great. Ate if for 2 meals!
It really is a trial and error. Chicken can be hard to eat at first, same with tuna.

Try using baby size forks and spoons. Use your other hand to eat with. Stand up and chew every mouthful and then sit down again, repeat til your done(exercise at the same time).
It used to take me 1 hour to eat a can of tuna and mayo.
Peanut butter and almonds in a blender and then top of a few soda crackers.
I am almost 7 months out and I can feel foods as they pass into my stomach, a little discomfort. Pork of any kind is really hard and hurts alot.
Have you tried crab? Easy to swallow.
