Julie called on Thursday 21 April with a surgery (VSG) date of 31 May with Dr. Hardy.  Happy Easter to me!  I start my pre-op diet on 17 May and can’t believe that is already next Tues.  It seems so surreal that is finally happening.  I have so many questions and I am so happy to have stumbled upon this site with so many great people.  Any advice you have to give is appreciated!

Welcome! Congrats on your surgery date! That's great news. I'm 7 weeks post op now and it's been pretty good so far. I've lost about 29 lbs now total. I'm thrilled with my decsion to have VSG with no regrets. If you have specific questions post them and someone will answer them. Good luck to you! ~Cheryl

Hi, I'm Kim, Welcome here!

I am still waiting for the call. My referral went in on September 30th.
When did your referral go into the doctor?
I'm just curious to see how far they are with referrals.

This site is very helpfull; just keep reading and asking question.

Talk to you soon.

Kim

Hi Teener!     Welcome!

Please feel free to ask anything you like here.

Since you are about to start your pre-op diet, I'll give you my 2-cents about that.

First of all, it is a challenge. You will be very restricted. However, you will experience fantastic weight loss and it prepares your system for the surgery. You may get headaches and mood swings - but this will pass. (Drink lots of water, it helps.) Keep at it, because it really is worth it in the end!

Secondly, stay away from the chocolate MediTrim bars. I found that they were awful. The peanut ones are palatable. (Drink a large glass of water with the bars or else they sit uncomfortably in your gut.) Most people just go with the shakes.

Good luck!

Tanya

Hi Teener

Glad that you found this site.

For the meditrim I got 3/4 chocolate the rest vanilla. I wish that I had gotten more of the vanilla. It is easier to add flavour extracts to vanilla.

Welcome Teener,  I am afraid I won't be much help as I have no experience with anything yet but I do like to get my 2 cents in on some of the threads (what I don't know, I make up as I am fluent in BS)  I am new to the site also and new to the waiting list ( I am trying not be discouraged/bitter about my projected 85 year wait for surgery)

anywho, Welcome.
