I have told my immediate family, my bff, and my boss. Thats it. I dont feel it needs to go any farther than that. I dont want opinions, or anyone telling me just to "diet and excercise"This is a very personal decision i have made, and by far, one of the most important decisions of my life. My journey, nobody elses

thank you for your honesty.i now regret telling 2 people.I just found out that my inlaws are against it.they think that if i can loose weight on the meditrim then why cant i just stay on that diet.we havent told them eveything but needless to say they think that this decision was come to quickly not that it has been a 10 year process.

I am also from a small town and am NOT keen on the comments and especially the "why don't you just diet and exercise"   REALLY PEOPLE??? do they not think we tried that route??  I have also only told a select few and I mean few - 4 people.  and not even some of my besties.   I just know the reaction will be negative and I JUST DON"T NEED ANY NEGATIVITY in this decision.  I bet everyone on this site has the same problem.

stay the course! (or cancel and give me your date LOL)

Also, there is a lady in my office that I REALLY don't want to know ANYTHING.  When the time comes I am just going to say I am having an operation for "female stuff".  nuff said - people don't usually pry into that.

I am in the same boat as far as hotels, meals (mine will be cheap haha)  do you know which hotel you will stay in?  have you compared prices between hotels?  any recommendations would be great.

im on booked.net right now and for a week at the marlbrough hotel which is downtown close to hospital the cost is 637.00 for a king suite(thats what i would take if i decide to stay there)because we are going to be spending so much time ther i didnt want to have to sit in bed all day if i so choose.i think it would be a great idea if the baratric clinic set something up with one of the hotels close by.

If you call the hotel direclty and explain it's for medical reasons, they may have a discounted price. When my son was in Children's one hotel gave us a discount. Worth a try.
