surgery date?
VSG on 10/16/12
Oh Kokonut, that sounds like a fairytale come true to me! (except the 4 year wait - arrrrgh! - I wonder where you were on the list?!) I know that all 700 on the list wil not wait or will decide against it - but still!! I hope they can keep speeding up the process and the list will go faster. I worked in an OR when laparoscopic cholecystectomys first started up and the surgeons would take 2-3 hours per surgery, after a couple of months and some experience, they were doing them in an hour or less and scheduling them 2-3 patients per OR day. I hope the same scenerio developes here. I also think that bariatric surgery is the wave of the future as it is soooo helpful to so many who are the most susceptible to diseases like Diabetes, COPD, etc. and that up and coming surgeons will see this vast market (as long as they don't all take off to the states!!! such a BURN)
Thanks for the name compliment. I use it when email with friends. One of my girls had a baby last year and they ( my buddies) love to tease me about be a grandma, calling me granny for a reaction. I decided that since there was no helping it, I would rock the granny thing and be the hippest, badest, coolest granny around! you know "make this look goooooood" lol They started calling me granny D and I threw in the "notorious" part - sounds kinda gangsta! That's right - don't mess with granny! lol
I think I am definitely going to draft a few email/letters to "the powers that be" to try and reinforce the impact that this program has on so many lives, the reduced costs in the end and definitely the need for expansion! Also will mention the projected savings for things like cardiac, orthodics, cancers, etc. Ohhh I could go on. I think I will pepper it with a good does of medical terminology so I sound smart ( like homer says S-M-R-T)
Anyway, thank you for the info - I will be ready to sping into action when called (as long as I am not too cramped from waiting soooooo long - lol)
