Hi everyone! So much has been happening with some of you gals in the past while. Great to hear some of you have your consults scheduled. You must be so excited! I'm so thrilled for you! It's truly an exciting time in your life, and before summer yet....Good for you!
I saw Laura on Tuesday which put me at 6 weeks out. I had a good visit with her and she was very pleased with how I'm getting along. I'm doing really well health wise with no complications with acid reflux and things like that. I've only just begun eating more solid foods. So I'm being careful and maybe to much so. I am still using shakes as my main protein source which Laura didn't care for to much. So I've been doing some of her suggestions to slowly advance my diet. I was down 9 lbs since surgery. Almost 4" gone from my waist. A total of 25lbs. I was real pleased with that considering I hadn't been eating properly. She gave me the go ahead for exercise(light) weights only until after I see Dr. Andrews. So now I'm good to go! With the nice weather upon us now, I will get most exercise out in my yard. I love to garden and work in my flower beds. Hope this finds you all well! now lets get motivated to fit into those cute summer outfits guys! ~Cheryl

Thanks! It's nice to feel somewhat fitter than before. I use every form of exercise I can. Stairs, and parking my car farther away from the stores. So it's all good! ~Cheryl

Don't feel bad that you are getting most of your protein from shakes. My NUT Shannon said that it is the best way to make sure that we are getting our protein in and not to worry about it.

I am happy that everything is going good for you.

I wasn't worried to much about the shakes until after my visit with Laura. I guess I was relying on them more than I should have been. Using them apposed to trying softer foods. I maybe could have lost more weight too. I was only getting in about 400 cals a day. Now I'm trying to eat a little more and only do one shake a day....See how it goes. ~Cheryl

Way to go Cheryl!  That is awesome progress.  The transition from the protein shakes to denser foods is a challange for everyone.  I still have some from time to time, when I am too lazy to eat or when I am having not enough protein.  Carbs food seem more accessable and convenient.  I need to come up with more protein, eat on the run foods.
Exercise is awesome.  I never in a million years would of believed that statement would flow from my mouth.  LOL.  It feels so much better and easier to do when you are lighter.  I know when i go to Zumba, i am literally bouncing all over the place and not dying with shortness of breath!  I am so thankful for this surgery.  My life has changed so wonderfully.  Aren't we blessed?
