On bed rest and not liking it!

Well I have been put on bed rest until May 15th and it sucks.  It has only been 3 days but they feel like the longest 3 days of my life!  3 Weeks after my surgey I went back to work.  On the 5th day my retention sutures were on fire and a hole was under one of them so I went to emerg.  They gave me antibotics and took the worst one out.  They told me to go back on Sunday if it was not better.  It was not better, however the hole had filled in and they told me they did not want to take the rest of the sutures so I am to move around as little as possible until it is time to take them out.  It is hard to loose weight when all you do is lie down and watch tv today.  I decided to be adventurous and sit on the computer for a bit today.  Also I think I am coming down with a cold.  I am not looking forward to the hacking that I do when I get a cold!.  Has anyone had retention sutures out their.  I would like to here about your experience if you have.  Well, all I can do it keep counting the days until I have a life again!

that is super crappy!  did you get to watch the Big Bang Marathon this weekend?  Personally I love that show and would have enjoyed bedrest (for the day anyway! lol)

I hope you are feeling better and heal up quick!  You'll soon be out there running marathons!

I have not had surgery of any kind so far. I just wanted to offer my support to you and if you know of any crafts to keep you occupied like, scrapbooking, knitting, crochet etc. HUGS

Sorry to hear that you had complications. You would think that bed rest is a prescribed vacation until it happens to you! I couldn't believe how restless I got during my recovery. It is one thing if you are choosing to take a relaxing day, it is something entirely different if you don't really have a choice.

I hope you have lots of good books. I found reading helped to pass the time.

It is only a couple of weeks away until you start to get your life back. It probably doesn't seem like it now, but it is worth it!

Hang in there & know that you are not alone.

Sorry to hear about the complications. But do what you have to do to heal!

Have someone bring books, magazines, rent movies..yeah, all that sort of stuff we do when we chill. DO you knit? or maybe this is the time too start something like that! Cross stitching etc!

Hopefully the time will go by quicker then your think!..
