So we had are big family dinner tonight, my first thought was this is my last big family dinner before my surgery. Hmmmm what am I going to eat?
My sister and I got everything ready and called the family to come and get it. There was turkey, ham, potatoes, stuffing, perogies home made buns, salad, gravy and of coarse 4 different kinds of pies. Everyone is pretty fit in our family, just my mom and I have battled with our weight all our lives. My mom has been doing weigh****chers and looks good.
I stood back and watched everyone fill there plates, thinking about what I wanted.
I want to lose weight!!!
I have been thinking and worried about this dinner all week
I have been really watching what I eat since the doctors visit and I wasn't going to start over again tomorrow. So I got myself a small plate and filled 3/4 of it with veggies and had 2oz of delicious turkey and fresh pineapple for dessert.
I feel great and I feel ready.
And I gave my chocolate bunny away

Great job on controlling the food and not the other way around. It feels great doesn't it.

I find family dinners for holidays alittle different now that I have a vegetarian(my daughter) so I find I prepare more salads, veggie dishes so she has food too. I try to make a least 1 meal when she is home that is totally vegetarian, and I know she appreciates it even if her Dad and brother think they are dying.

I've been having some stomach issues which I think are driven by the stress but whether I eat or not I feel sick so I am only having little bits of food. Pretty sure I am going to have to eliminate dairy from my diet. Always been sensitive to dairy but getting much worse. So will take it out and see what happens.

Hope you all have a blessed Easter with the ones you love - that really is themost important thing - the family and the time you have together.

Thanks girls, this has been a long week . I got a letter last week saying I need to go for a ES&D X-ray, I thought there was something wrong from all my test. I called the office and now the doctors want everyone to go for this before there surgery, which is good.I Have a tentative date which will be confirmed next week, I hope. The only problem is the X-ray is 6 weeks after my tentative date lol. Sooo we will see what happens

Way to go!

That is very impressive! Post surgery, it does get easier, though I still sometimes look at how much others can enjoy & get jealous. However, now, no food is worth getting sick over.

Keep up the good work!
