Frustrated

I am feeling pretty frustrated, I haven't lost a single pound this week, and I know for a fact that I haven't been over eating. I eat roughly 400-600 calories a day, It's about all that I can get in and I am meeting my protein requirements almost every day (maybe 5 days/wk). I don't lie around all day, I go to th Y 3 days/wk, just using the elliptical machine and/or treadmill.

Anyone else have this kind of stall out this quickly after surgery? Tomorrow will be 3 weeks post surgery.

You have hit the REALLY ANNOYING, but totally normal 3 week stall. You just traumatised your body and it is struggling to catch up. Just keep doing what you are doing and TRUST me, the weight will come off! I weighed the same for 2 weeks post-op, then WHAM..5 lbs fell off in 2 days..and then 5 the next week and I have not had a week where I haven't lost SOMETHING since then.  :)

Good Luck Lisa!!

Hi Lisa,

Kokonut is right, it is very normal to have a stall immediately after surgery. Your body will adjust soon, and the scale will move. For now, you just need to concentrate on getting better. I don't think I lost anything in the first 10 days after my surgery, then all of  a sudden the weight started to come off.

Hope to see you next weekend,

Tanya

If you have done your research on here or much reading you will see that almost EVERYONE hits a stall at right around 3 or 4 weeks.  Sorry to break it to you...but you are normal.  LOL!  It will pass...hang in there!

At 3 weeks the scale didn't move for 14 very long days. And then it did. Try not to worry about the weight loss at 3 weeks. It will all come off. It's been 2x now when the scale hasn't move in days and yet I sm still happy with my weight loss. Pretty soon you will be needing new pants

Thanks...it's just pretty frustrating when I know I'm not consuming even near 1000 calories a day and I still make sure I go to the Y to go on the elliptical and/or treadmill a few times a week. I am able to go farther and increase the resistance more each week!

And I know I've gotten smaller even though the scale is saying I haven't lost a flipping pound because I am wearing different sizes of clothes.

I agree, it is crazy frustrating!

I wish that all the effort we put into our weight loss journey was rewarded with regular, proportional weight loss. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. The experts don't even know why. Just hang in there & know that this will work for you! You are doing everything right and there is no reason why it won't result in weight loss.

I am finding that this process is a big lesson in PATIENCE - something I have never been good at. LOL!

I'm so glad to see this is a normal response, as I've been feeling the same way. I'm 2 weeks post op today. It seems the scale just doesn't seem to want to move. Here's to weight loss soon!! Good luck!!
