I'm walking 2 miles or more everyday. How soon can I start cardio and weight lifting in moderation after surgery? I'm 2 weeks post-op. ~Cheryl

Not till you see the surgeon!  Do not over exert yourself.  You can do lots of damage.

Sherry is right, talk to your surgeon first!

I was told that it takes 6 - 8 weeks to completely heal internally.
So, I can't imagine doing any weight lifting before that.
In the meantime, walking is great! Keep it up!

Wow 2 miles a day!   I had my first surgery on March 28th then I had a second on April 2nd.  I am still just walking around the house.  Today I will make a trip to Walmart to do some shopping.  It will be my first real outing.  My energy levels are still very low.  I have to start getting my moving up as I am intending to return to work next week.  Great job on the exercise and I would just keep to walking.  Trust me, as someone who has had complications... it is not worth it.  Wait until you are fully healed.

Your all so right! I'm imagining this to be from the weight loss, but not sure. Just in the past 3 days I've been feeling tender on the inside where my incisions are. My one incision was right between my girls just underneath them. That is now moved down approx 2" from where it was. Not my girls my incision....lol. Gosh if they move I'll just tuck em in my pockets! ...lol. It could also be the muscle too I don't know. Have any of you had this tenderness at 4 weeks out or sooner. It's no biggy I feel fine and am doing really well. ~Cheryl
