one more day

Well I have been in the hospital since March 28th.  The Dr finally gave me the okay to go home tomorrow.  Man I must say it has been along trying two weeks.  At times I have asked myself why did I do this, but know that everthing is fine I a still happy it was done.  I must admt I find it really weird not eating more then a few mouthfulls!

My goodness, I bet you will be so happy to get home! Do they always keep you for that long? You had yours done in Medicine Hat right?

Usually the stay for an open bypass would be 5 to 6 days.  On the 4th day spit the internal stiches holding the inside muscles together as well as opened a small whole on the outside.  I went to the bathroom and had juice leaking out onto the floor!!!!  Needless to say the next day I was back in surgery and pretty much had to start the week over.  They put in retention sutures this time which kind of look like the plastic that holds a barbie into a box, I will get a picture and upload it once i get out an settled as tey will be in for 6 weeks.  Anyhow the second surgery was last Friday and I am already off all meds not even taking tylonal.  I am still a little sore but not more then I would have been expecting.

So sorry that you had to go through the second surfery but very happy to hear you are feeling better!

Happy to say that I am feeling much better after a week of stress leave. Also found I didn't miss work all that much. Went into Winnipeg yesterday and spent some time with my girl before she starts exams. Had some thai food at the mall and did some shopping with her. Don't get too  much of that with the younger one being special needs so it was special.
