took about 5 days for me and normal it was not....smelly and a little hard to have but it is getting better. Glad to hear you are home and doing well.

So far, it took me 5 days, but I went out for a jaunt to the mall, that might have helped. I wanted out of the house and the mall seemed ideal because there are benchs to sit on in every hallway for when I needed to rest

Do to the embarrassing nature of this topic many of us don't want to discuss it. Me included! But I do want people that have not had this surgery yet to know that a once regular person is no longer that way. I became constipated during the pre-op diet....So I have been struggling for quite some time. I just think we need to know everything that could be headed our way. This is the product that helped me. I talked with my pharmacist and this is what she recommended. It's kept behind the shelf, so you have to ask for it. LACTULOSE. It costs 12.99 for a 667mg bottle. Which I'm sure will not got to waste. It is sweet but not grossly sweet. So its pretty good actually. Anyway I tried to find some humor in my time of desperation with my daily posts. I hope I in no way offended anyone. I hope I never go through what I have in the past 16 days ever again....Thanks to those who chatted with me and sent me private messages.......~Cheryl 

Glad to hear that things are moving along..... we used lactulose for our son for many years as he suffered terribly from constipation due to his medications and I thing have a bowel obstruction as a baby hadn't helped. I would totally recomment it to anyone struggling.
