Hi! I made it back home. And yes to another rather large bumping of snow. Oh well, spring has to come right? Read the latest posts on the forum, glad to hear all the news, it's great! I got home yesterday evening. I'm doing well, but am really punky and so not wanting to eat at all. I had a bad 2ND day in hospital with trying to get my fluids all in and over drank. Yes! I gorged myself till I felt like I was going to explode. so that ended my eager beaver syndrome with getting my fluids in. today I'm managing well and not over doing it. So it's going rather well. I'm having some difficulty with recognizing the difference between pain and hunger, but that too is coming. I'm also having a lot of bile and stomach juices coming up. It's so gross! When will this stop? I now have a little spit cup I have to have with me. So much to learn. Before my surgery with the pre-op diet I remember thinking 2 cups? that's not enough. Now, 1/2 c. how will I ever get all that in? It truly shocks me how quick I've come to realize the reality of all this, and how much my life is about to change for good......~Cheryl again thanks for the support! You are truly a great bunch!

So glad you are home.  This stage will pass.  Which PPI did they put you on?  Maybe you are a bit like me, with the symptoms.  It gets better (despite all the whining I did post op).  It actually fades into your distant memory.  Take it from someone who suffered, do not advance your diet too quickly.
Glad to hear you are home and doing well.

Good to see so far so good, I hope to be were you are soon, I think the next few months will go fast for me and hope to get a surgery date for May. I think I will order my pre op shakes on line. Are the shakes a powder that you mix? I'm looking at them on line, I didn't realize they were a mix.

Hi Shan! Ya things are coming a long nicely now. Every day I feel a bit better than the day before, so it's all good! Yes the shakes are powder you mix with water. They are nice and thick like a milk shake. I hopw you have a date soon. ~Cheryl

Glad your home and everything went well.  I know how you feel.....it will get better!   It takes time to heal and get to know your limits.  I am still trying to know what is enough...some foods are different than others. It amazes me...I order pizza two days ago...probably been 6 -8 weeks since I had pizza.  Just Love it!  Before WLS... I could eat half of a med or large pizza ..EASY.  Well all I can have is a small square piece without the crust! Hard to believe...eyes are bigger than stomach...been years since that is the case!

Take your time and listen to your body.

Speedy recovery!

Hi Pam,
My hubby had pizza last night. I would have loved to have had some, but my stomach just turned at the smell. So I hope that changes cause there's nothing better than a pineapple or vegetarian pizza! My personal fav's.....What a wonderful feeling when you can have that under your nose and only have a lil piece. Good for you Pam!

Hi Cheryl! Glad to hear you are home safely! Sorry to hear about the bile and stomach juices, so far I've just been burping alot if I sip too much water/liquid, sneezing and coughing aren't hurting as much now. I know how that felt with the rushing the fluids on the 2nd day, lol. I was a tad to eager for caffeine the next day after surgery that I gulped 60mls in an hour...not pleasant. We can do this Cheryl!

Anyhoo,

off to read and not watch the bloody food network

Hi Lisa! Thanks for the encouragement. Yes your right we can do this! I try to avoid food channels especially when I was doing the pre-op diet. MURDER is what it was! ~Cheryl
