A little tired and shakey and can't seem to get all the protein shake in that I need. I want to try some yogurt....is it to early. I really think it would help me.

I was not even close to 70-80grams of protein a day!!  I think it took about a month to get there.

Are you drinking any protein shakes? Try drinking G2 it helps.

You can also drink chicken or turkey soup stock.

In the states they eat jello, have you tried that.  I ate full calorie jello, for the first while to help with the shaky hands that I had.

You might want to ask the vsg forum what they are eating the first week.  I follow them a lot.

Thanks. I have tried the chicken brooth....not cutting it. Tried some jello....not cutting it either. Needed something more. I tried a small amount of cream soup today and I had some yogurt. It was wonderful. I can't wait to have a toasted salmon sandwich (or a 1/4 of one). I feel much better. Still having a little trouble drinking much. Never was much of a drinker to start with so its a little hard. Will try a smoothie with protien and milk and a little frozen fruit for breakfast tomorrow. Stomach a little sore but not too bad.

Don't go overboard with the textures.  Take your time.  The protein will come later, concentrate on staying hydrated.  You will start feeling better every day.  Get lots of rest.  Take care.

I really enjoy sugar free popsicles when I am getting tired of drinking water.

At this point you should be only doing fluids - full fluids. They can be cream soups, yougurt, puddings, jello, applesauce. Anything with a very smooth consistancy.

Do not rush solids (toasted sandwiches) too soon. You need to wait at least the full 8 - 12 weeks for those. Your "pouch" will be very swollen right now so it cannot hold much. Not only is the pouch area swollen but so will any place where you were cut/stitched and stapled. Give it time to heal properly. Now I don't know the post-surgical diet for the sleeve but for the RnY the food steps are very important. I would imagine that this is so with the sleeve too.

From what I've read on the other forums, few people can get their protein down. It took me 2 weeks to get 1 of the Premier shakes down and 1 scoop of vanilla protein mixed in my yogurt down. Right now, concentrate on your liquids and try to get the protein in as much as possible.
BTW - Costco's sells a great unflavoured protein powder that when mixed to a liquidy consistancy in cold water mixes in GREAT with hot soup. I like to use it in cream soups because it really hides the few small clumps that I don't manage to get out. An easy way to get 40 g protein in. (40 or 45 g per scoop for this Lean n Fit protein).
