I am having my Surgery on March 28th.  I am wondering from how long I really have to take off work, assuming I have no complications.  I have been looking at videos on youtube an people are going to work after 2 weeks.  I only have 2 weeks off paid so I am hoping I will be able to go back at that point as well.  My job is fairly seditary.   Please post your advice on returning to work.

Thanks

Well I had surgery on a Tuesday, came home on Thursday afternoon and went to work for a short time that evening. I also went to work the next day for a few hours. I then went home to have a 2 hour sleep. I have the type of job that allows me to do that. I am working a little today and plan to be back at the office tomorrow probably full time. Again if I need a break I will just take one. It all depends. I had no problems. I had the sleeve.

A friend of mine had an open bypass. She was barley able to do anything for about 5 weeks. I know that wasn't the answer that you were looking for, sorry.

I took 4 weeks off, and I wish I could have taken 5.
You are basically healed from the surgery after two weeks.
However, two weeks out, you may still not be getting all the fluids and nutrients that you need.
I was really nauseous for a month, and couldn't have imagined reporting for work that way.
If you can set your own pace at work, you may be fine.
I was a big baby and didn't want to go anywhere or do anything. LOL!
