When did Bariatric program start in Manitoba?

I am just wondering if anybody knows when this bariatric program actually started in Manitoba.

When did they start performing their first surgeries?

Have they all been at the Victoria Hospital?

I believe the the first surgery was around the end of June 2010 and I also am pretty sure they were all performed at the VGH....and I am also pretty sure if I am wrong I will be corrected!!! LOL!!

From what I was told, the clinic opened late Jan-Feb 2010 for referrals.

My mother had a gastric bypass (removed lots of her intestines) in the 1980's at HSC.  Experimental surgery at that point for obesity.  Led in part to her early death at age 67.
