weight gain btwn referral and consult
anyone else gain weight since their referral? I am a little worried because when my referral was sent in 6 months ago, i was about 18 lbs less than i am now. I wonder if this will be an issue. I have always been a yoyo dieter and my weight always fluctuates. Has this happened to anyone else, and do you think this will be an issue?

I wondered that too, but I had the opposite problem. I dropped a bit of weight(we moved into a huge house and I did lots of walking LOL) and then the dietician said "oh, well you know your bmi is too low for surgery now right?" I said well that should prove I am ready to lose the weight....what a lame ass thing to say to someone! Really?..like, were you there when I weighed 300lbs?..NO? SO SHUT UP! Sheesh..ok end rant!..LOL
I think you will do fine Hayley! What I did also before hand was to replace my breakfast with a protein shake early out. It wasn't even a low carb/low calorie one. Just the PC one from Superstore. It did help curb my appetite though. You could try that. I also tried to not let myself get sooooo hungry I would pig out..that is my biggest downfall.

Hi Hayley;
I gained about 10 lbs between my referral and my pre-op start date. However, I was able to lose it and more during the pre-op diet, so on the day of my surgery I was still lower than I was at my referral.
If you are seriously concerned, call the clinic and they can let you know what their expectations are.
