Surgery Booked for March 29th

Hi Manitoba Group! I have been lurking on here for quite awhile. First off you all sound like an amazing group of people. My Dr. sent in my referral for VSG back in Sept. got my approval letter & originally I was told I'd hear back in early Spring. Not sure what happened after that but Spring turned into "by the end of 2011"

I have decided I can't wait any longer I need to do this and get my health and life back! I'm booked to have my surgery with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali on the 29th. Deposit is sent and plane tickets have been booked. My husband is coming with me and my sister will be keeping my kids for me. I'm so excited and yet so nervous at the same time. I hope I can still be a part of this support group even if my surgery is out of town. Since I won't have the after care I'll need all the help I can get. Thanks for listening everyone.

I'm excited for you and a lot jealous. My letter went in also in September of 2010, and I was told later spring, what makes you think that they are now saying end of the year? Just curious.

I hope everything goes well for you and you recover quickly.

I called 3 weeks ago and asked Julie where I stood and that's when I was told it would now be more like the end of the year.

I'm going to try and make it to the M & G on the 19th. I'd love to meet some of you.

We have a gal in Mexico now. If you read through the forum you will see her posts. Anyone is welcome, we all need support in some way before and after our surgeries. All the best to you with your upcoming surgery in Mexico! ~Cheryl
