Post VSG and can't stand Protein or Vitamins!

Don't worry about the vitamins at this stage. I was about 1.5 months post-op before I could swallow them.
I still have an aversion to protein shakes. I wish I didn't because they are so good for you. At least you have found one that you can tolerate!
Be kind to your body & don't force anything down that doesn't feel right. Your system will tell you when it can manage something more.
Hang in there. You are already two weeks post op. In just one more month, you will feel great!

Aww you are doing alright. At 15 days out I could barely finish HALF of one Premier shake a day. Do you have chewable vits? I got the Jamieson ones for the first month, I chewed one in the morning and one in the evening.
It is just a phase, you will be amazed at how different you will feel in 2 more weeks!!
I'm in a different phase..I'm SICK of the Premier protein..lol I still have a dozen of vanilla AND chocolate to drink..but I think I'm just going to go to Popeyes and get something different for now. YUCK! I need something with less liquid, same protein..

I too bought some protein powder and tried it out. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! Is all I can say! Got strawberry. Guess the flavor isn't bad it's that protein taste that makes me gag. The after taste is nasty. So I'm there with you. How are you going to get your protein in every day? I hope this all turns itself around for you. Good luck!~Cheryl

I wanted to share a secret with you. I, too, hated all protein shakes until I developed a recipe that works to mask the 'chemical' after taste...
I use any protein powder / any flavour. Currently using Body Fortress with 45 gr of protein.
Ingredients
3 ice cubes
Protein Powder
Handfull of Frozen Fruit
Orange juice or any juice with low sugar / no sugar added (Vitamin 10 water is GREAT)
Blend in a Bullit or a blender
This is the only way that I can drink a Protein Powder. You can change up the juice and fruits to mix with any flavour. I use Orange juice with Chocolate Powder... absolutely yummy.
There is something in the taste of the Frozen Fruit that eliminates the 'Chemical' After Taste of the powders.
